Top of Third Peak Squamish B.C

The Chief has been a cornerstone of Michael's practice since the early days. Third Peak, in particular, offered countless opportunities to explore light, atmosphere, and the interplay between landscape and weather. The fog that rolls through Squamish creates a natural diffusion—soft, directional, and ever-changing.

Sol 2, Sol 19, and Sol 31 emerged from these sessions. Each capture documents a specific moment when conditions aligned: the angle of light, the density of cloud cover, the texture of the rock face. What began as a single location evolved into a broader exploration across the Lower Mainland—from the granite walls of Squamish to the alpine terrain of Mount Seymour. The series reflects both the geography of the region and the photographer's commitment to returning to places until their visual language becomes clear.
